Entrepreneurship and Peacebuilding: A Review and Synthesis

Entrepreneurship is the dominant form of enterprise in conflict-affected settings, yet little known about role entrepreneurship peacebuilding. In response, this article undertakes a review regions to integrate research from business and management with political science, international relations, parallel domains. Three views emerge—the destructive view, economic social cohesion view—showing how can concurrently create conflict but also potentially generate peace. The identifies new avenues for pro-peace entrepreneurship: namely, through personal transformation, contributions, inclusive interactions, trigger removal, intergroup policy persuasion, acting as legal champions. This discusses several pathways forward business-for-peace alongside additional implications deployment business-based support programs settings.
